In five sentences:

I get it. You have a business to run and building a website is a chore. On the other hand, you also don’t have the budget to have someone build and manage a whole site for you. Also, you want to keep control. If that describes your situation, then let me set up a very nice site for you, show you how to manage it, hand it over to you, and I’ll stay in touch to help you along the way.

With a bit more explanation:

Hello. My name is Michael Koetsier. I started this project to build websites for groups and organizations I was involved with so that they could have a small web presence. This was not meant as a business initially. Over time though, I was approached by small clubs, charities, artists, solopreneurs, gigsters, teens, schools, and many more people. In the end, I could not keep up with the work.

While I enjoyed helping people, I really wanted to get everyone up and running and then to have them take it over. What I discovered was that this is not a flick-of-the-switch instantaneous process. Most people want to take over their own sites, but this has to happen gradually - they need someone that they can keep on speed-dial in case things go awry.

I also discovered that not all web hosting services are the same. I have helped people who dove straight into self-hosted Wordpress to people who hard coded their sites from scratch to people who set up a graphical site and got lost in the code. There are many options for websites these days: Wix, Weebly, Medium, Sitebuilder, Wordpress, etc.. They all have their strengths, but in my experience, the one that offers the best all-around options is Squarespace.

That is why I support Squarespace sites exclusively now. The service I provide on square space is the following:

  • All-in-one Website setup for beginners (and refugees from the other platforms)

  • Everything that is offered in Squarespace - domain registration, blogging, newsletters, calendaring, shopping carts, stats, etc.

  • Transition to manage your own site over time and at your own pace

  • Continued support for as long as you need it

The bottom line is that I want you to become the owner of your own website. Websites are a marketing extension of you and your business/organization, so they should not remain in control of someone else.

I realize this isn’t for everyone. Perhaps you would like to hand the whole website over to someone else, and that is fine, but that is also very expensive. A Website is something that almost anyone can start, but requires careful planning and management to remain an effective part of your goals over time.

Yes, I have had clients who have grown their businesses to the point where me and Squarespace are no longer the best platform for them. That is wonderful and I have welcomed their success. I hope that all my clients can reach that point. But until they do, they may just need something a little closer to home and that is where I can help.

If this is where you are at with your website efforts, then let me know how I can be of service through my contact form:
